Go beyond what’s been traditionally possible with a camcorder; catch every moment in up to 120 frames per second (fps) High Frame Rate continuous recording, in full HD quality. The Clear Image Zoom technology operates at 24x zoom and 18x zoom in HD and 4K modes respectively, in addition to the standard optical 12x zoom. The single 20 megapixel*² 1.0-inch type large sensor size offers clear pictures even in low light, giving filmmakers superb clarity and sharpness, opening up the opportunities for flexible shooting in a variety of environments. PXW-Z150 offers a change in image capture in its class with 4K QFHD (3840x2160) using the advanced XAVC Long GOP 100Mbps codec with its advanced 1.0-inch type Exmor RS CMOS sensor. This high performance Exmor RS CMOS sensor ensures 4K image capture without binning which makes the image quality the highest in its class.

Exmor RS CMOS sensor has much high performance, especially readout speed, than the original Exmor R CMOS sensor. High readout speed makes 120fps HFR shooting possible and 4K image capture without binning.

In addition, compared with other camcorder sensors in its class, the 1.0-inch type stacked sensor is brighter, has higher resolution and offers more bokeh with a shallow depth of field than any other camcorder in its price range, allowing you to create beautiful, cinematic images that will inspire you and delight your clients.

The premium 12x zoom lens for the camcorder specifically designed for 4K imaging, giving you high resolution and contrast from the center, right to the edge of your picture. The advanced Clear Image Zoom feature doubles magnification to 18x when shooting in 4K QFHD and 24x in HD, maximizing the performance of the camcorder's large 1.0-inch type stacked sensor.

High Frame Rate shots can turn everyday actions into slow motion ballet and PXW-Z150 delivers up to 120 frames per second (fps) in Full HD, giving you a maximum of 5 times slow motion expression. There's no sacrifice in bit depth and no "windowing" of the sensor. So there's no crop factor, no loss in angle of view.

Advanced XAVC Long GOP format ensures high quality video in both 4K and Full-HD resolution while MPEG2HD format provides full broadcasting support.

Built-in Wi-Fi offers live streaming to the cloud or FTP server with the camcorder's Wi-Fi FTP or streaming* functions. Used with Sony's Content Browse Mobile software, you can control the camcorder remotely with a smartphone or tablet, including the ability to adjust settings such as focus, zoom, iris, white balance, REC START/STOP and more.

PXW-Z150 is ergonomically designed to provide a lightweight and easy-to-use shooting experience. Three manual, independent lens rings enable smooth, natural adjustment of focusing, zooming and iris control.

The camcorder can also be used in full-auto mode or completely manual for maximum creative control. Manual dial and buttons on the side of the body allow swift and easy adjustment of IRIS (aperture), GAIN and shutter speed. The white balance is simple to adjust by color temperature in convenient 100K steps.

There's no need to worry about adapters as the Z150 provides a wide variety of built-in connectivity options including 3G-SDI, HDMI, Multi/Micro USB, professional audio XLR terminals, REMOTE, Composite (RCA) and Lineout.

Flexible Multi-Interface (MI) Shoe provides power, signal connections and coordinated on/off switching to compatible Sony accessories such as UWP-D wireless microphone systems. A supplied Sony cold shoe adaptor kit provides you with more flexibility for mounting accessories.
